Space 48

Space 48 is a respected, Manchester-based e-commerce agency. When I began working with Space 48 they were best known for their the design and build of Magento-powered online retail platforms.

The Challenge

Space 48 had enjoyed a string of successes, and were looking to ascend to the next level of growth. The team weren’t looking to gain hundreds of leads a month – they just wanted to find the right kind of customers, and then foster longstanding and mutually beneficial relationships with them.

My response

Through discovery meetings with founder Jon Woodall, it became apparent that to reach the next level, Space 48 needed to evolve its brand focus away from being primarily a Magento design-and-build agency. 

The outcome of these meetings was the understanding that Space 48 needed to better communicate the value it brings to its customers. (The short version: Space 48 helps online retailers sell more by creating a truly seamless commerce experience for their customers.) So, working together and with other stakeholders in the business, we developed an improved value proposition that more accurately reflects Space 48’s offer. 

From there, a new brand was formulated, along with a new marketing strategy that focused on how the average Space 48 client experiences the agency – from initial interactions through to onboarding and account management. This strategy was supported by a series of high-quality events, from intimate round-table dinners to large-scale functions hosted at the Space 48 offices. 

The Results
